I watched a full silo of grain spoil because I underestimated airtight sealing, proper moisture control, and strict adherence to AS/NZS standards—three things you cannot skimp on when storing bulk grain off-grid on a homestead. Skip one and the lot goes mouldy.

I've been wiring solar, batteries and sheds across central QLD for twenty-two years, and I've watched plenty of grain turn to mush because someone skipped the fundamentals. Moisture control, rodent-proofing, and a maintenance routine you actually stick to — that's what gets your stock through a drought or a blackout.
