How DC GFCI Actually Works
Forget AC tricks. DC GFCIs use a current-sensing clamp around BOTH positive and negative wires. If the current out ≠ current back by 30mA (or less), it trips. That's it. No magic.

What Not To Do
Don't use an AC GFCI on DC. It will not trip. You'll get fried.
