Propane is the lifeline for off-grid living in Australia. But if you install it wrong, you're asking for a fire. Here's the blunt truth.

Tank Selection: Don't Be a Dumb Arse

45kg tank = your sweet spot. 100kg is overkill unless you're running a whole farm. Bigger tanks cost more to fill and are a pain to move. Get a 45kg. Done.

Cost: $400-$800 (including delivery). Suppliers: Caltex, BP, or Propane Australia. Don't buy from the guy selling "cheap" tanks off Facebook – they're dangerous.
